INFORMATION YOU CAN USE AND LINKS I LIKE (more to come)

Writing and editing tips:

Choosing the Correct Word #1

Resources on writing:

"If I Were a Carpenter," presented by Roy Peter Clark of The Poynter Institute at the Orange County Writers Workshop. Few writers convey the nuts, bolts and gems of good writing as finely as Mr. Clark. With comments like "Any word next to the period plays jazz" you know this information is worth reading. See also Clark's book "Writing Tools: 50 Essential Strategies for Every Writer."

"Zinsser on Friday," a weekly blog by William Zinsser, the author of my first favorite writing primer, "On Writing Well." He's 88 now. His prose is beautifully spare and lean. The site contains other great writing links.

For layout coaching, you can't beat the upbeat Robin Williams (not the actor!): "The Non-Designer's Design Book," "Robin Williams Design Workshop,""The Non-Designer's Photoshop Book."
